Our Specialised experience

Disabilities We Serve

Jackie Care is an NDIS service provider that specialises in services for individuals with autism, mental health conditions, and Down syndrome. We primarily work with children within the Alice Springs region but also work with any age ranges up to 65 Years old. To provide comprehensive and effective support for these diverse needs, we employ a person-centered approach, which involves customising services to meet the unique requirements of each individual. Here’s a detailed explanation of how we tailor our services for each of these conditions:

Autism Care

  • Assessment and Individualized Plans: Jackie Care starts by conducting thorough assessments to understand the specific needs and strengths of individuals with autism. This assessment may include input from the individual, their family, and relevant professionals. Based on this assessment, they develop individualized care plans that outline the goals and objectives for each person.

  • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA): For individuals with autism, ABA is a commonly used therapeutic approach. Jackie Care may incorporate ABA techniques into their services, offering structured interventions that focus on improving communication, social skills, and behavior management.

  • Sensory Support: Autism often involves sensory sensitivities. The service provider may offer sensory support and create sensory-friendly environments to help individuals with autism feel more comfortable and regulated.

  • Social Skills Training: For those with autism who struggle with social interactions, Jackie Care may provide social skills training to enhance their ability to navigate social situations effectively.

  • Family Support and Training: Recognizing the importance of family involvement, Jackie Care may offer training and support to families to help them better understand autism and implement strategies at home.

  • Regular Monitoring and Adjustments: They continuously monitor the progress of individuals with autism and make necessary adjustments to the care plans to ensure they are on track to meet their goals.

Down Syndrome

  • Developmental Support: Jackie Care recognizes that individuals with Down syndrome may have unique developmental needs. They provide specialized developmental support, focusing on areas such as speech and language development, motor skills, and daily living skills.

  • Healthcare Coordination: Due to potential health concerns associated with Down syndrome, they coordinate healthcare services, including regular check-ups, therapy sessions, and specialized medical care.

  • Inclusion and Community Engagement: They promote inclusion by facilitating participation in community activities, social groups, and educational programs. This helps individuals with Down syndrome build social connections and develop skills for independent living.

  • Family Education: To empower families, they offer education and resources on understanding and supporting individuals with Down syndrome.

  • Transition Planning: As individuals with Down syndrome transition into adulthood, Jackie Care assists in creating transition plans that address housing, employment, and further education.

Mental Health

  • Comprehensive Assessment: Jackie Care conducts in-depth assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of individuals. This may include assessing the severity of mental health conditions, identifying triggers, and understanding any co-occurring disorders.

  • Therapeutic Interventions: They offer evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the individual’s diagnosis and needs. This may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or other modalities.

  • Medication Management: For those individuals who require medication as part of their mental health treatment, Jackie Care may coordinate with medical professionals to ensure proper medication management and monitoring.

  • Crisis Management: In case of crises or emergencies, they have protocols in place to provide immediate support and, if necessary, facilitate hospitalization or crisis intervention.

  • Rehabilitation Services: If applicable, they may provide rehabilitation services to help individuals regain and improve their daily functioning and independence.

In all cases, Jackie Care places a strong emphasis on regular communication with individuals, their families, and relevant professionals to ensure that services remain person-centered and responsive to changing needs. This approach helps maximize the quality of care and the overall well-being of those they support.
